Paiste 2002 Sound Edge hi-hat 17"

At 17 inches in diameter, this is the largest hihat in Paiste's 2002 Sound Edge series. The upper cymbal has a medium weight and the lower, wavy cymbal, is medium heavy. Thanks to the waves in the lower cymbal, a sharp, full 'chick' is created when the cymbals are kicked together. Overall, these hihat cymbals have a warm, bright sound with a medium sustain. Because of their large size, they sound a bit lower and fuller than you might be used to. As for volume: playing very softly doesn't really work with these hihats. They sound particularly good at medium to loud volumes. This hihat can be used as a first or second hihat, it just depends on what you want.
